The first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah
By this calculation Dhu al-Hijjah 1448 begins on Friday 7 May 2027, so its first ten days run from 7 May to 16 May. Pilgrims on Hajj spend the Day of Arafah on the plain of Arafat, east of Makkah. Many Muslims who are not on Hajj fast on this day.
The day after is Eid al-Adha: Eid al-Adha 2027.
Why the date can differ by one day
An Islamic month begins with the new crescent moon. The dates on this page come from the Umm al-Qura calendar, a calculated calendar published in Saudi Arabia, and the app uses the same calculation. Many mosques and national bodies announce Ramadan and the two Eids only after the crescent has been seen, locally or elsewhere, or follow a different calculation, so the date they announce can be one day earlier or later than the date here.
If your mosque or community announces a different date, follow that announcement.
